Embassy Assists 3 Injured Filipinos in Israel Amid Missile Strike

June 16, 2025 | Tel Aviv, Israel — The Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv has swiftly extended aid to three Filipino nationals who were injured in a missile strike that hit their residence in Israel on June 15, 2025. The attack was part of escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.

According to official reports, a Filipina caregiver sustained critical injuries, including damage to her heart and lungs. She is currently in intensive care at Shamir Medical Center. Two other Filipinos—a 43-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man—suffered moderate injuries and are being treated at Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot.

The embassy immediately activated a rapid-response team composed of the Vice Consul, Labor Attaché, and representatives from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). The team is working closely with Israeli authorities and hospitals to ensure the victims receive full medical care, psychological support, and assistance with shelter and possible repatriation.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that at least four Filipinos were injured during the recent missile strikes. One remains in critical condition, while the others are being monitored for stable recovery.

There are an estimated 31,000 documented Filipino workers in Israel, primarily employed as caregivers, with total estimates reaching up to 50,000 including undocumented individuals.

The Embassy continues to remind Filipinos in Israel to strictly observe local safety protocols and to seek shelter immediately during missile alerts. Those needing assistance may contact the Philippine Embassy hotline at +972 54 466 1188 or the OWWA Welfare Officer at +972 50 715 6937.

The government vows to remain on high alert and ready to provide further aid to affected Filipinos in the region as tensions continue to unfold.
