Three Filipinos Reportedly Arrested in UAE for Posting Videos on Security Incident

ABU DHABI / DUBAI — The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai are currently monitoring reports that three Filipinos were arrested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after allegedly posting videos online related to a recent security incident.

According to Philippine officials, they have already requested confirmation from UAE authorities regarding the identities of the individuals involved and their current legal status. As of now, further details about the arrests have not yet been officially released.

In an advisory to the Filipino community, the Philippine Embassy reminded residents in the UAE that sharing misleading, unverified, or sensitive security-related content online can be considered a criminal offense under UAE law.

Authorities stressed that posting videos, photos, or information about security operations or incidents—especially if the information is inaccurate or taken out of context—may lead to legal consequences.

The embassy is urging Filipinos living and working in the UAE to exercise caution when using social media, particularly when sharing information about security matters.

Filipino residents were advised to avoid spreading rumors or unverified content and instead rely only on official government announcements and credible news sources.

The Philippine government also assured the public that it will continue coordinating with UAE authorities to verify the situation and provide assistance if necessary.

Meanwhile, the embassy encouraged Filipinos in the UAE to remain responsible online and to respect local laws, reminding the community that social media misuse can have serious legal implications in the country.
