In the previous years, reports of Filipino domestic workers being treated badly by their employers in Kuwait surpassed online. This has created quite abuzz and the Philippine government even implemented a deployment ban to Kuwait because of the rising number of abuse cases. However, it seems like there are still a lot of Filipinos in Kuwait who are not abiding by the law and committed several offenses over the past few years.
Authorities in Kuwait arrested two Filipinos as part of the security crackdown in the country. They also issued 15 traffic citations because they committed numerous traffic offenses.
According to reports, one of the arrested women was living illegally in the country and was involved in a financial case that took place in 2017. She was intercepted at a checkpoint that was set up by police authorities.
The other Filipina, who was reportedly born in 1989, absconded about 4 years ago.
Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) are advised to always abide by the laws of the country that they are working with. After all, it is best to be safe than sorry.
