KUWAIT CITY, April 10 — A Filipina worker in Kuwait has died following emergency brain surgery, just days before she was scheduled to return to the Philippines, leaving her family in grief.
The victim, identified as Glaiza Rozal Amor, a native of Agusan del Norte, was reportedly found unconscious inside a bathroom at her workplace. A fellow Filipino worker discovered her and immediately sought medical assistance.
She was rushed to a hospital where doctors performed emergency surgery after detecting bleeding in her brain. Despite efforts to save her, Amor was later declared brain dead and passed away at around 10:00 p.m. (Kuwait time).
Her death came just days before the end of her employment contract on April 14. According to her family, she had already been preparing to return home to the Philippines.
Relatives believe that high blood pressure may have contributed to her condition. They also expressed concern over the stressful environment near her workplace, citing frequent sounds of explosions and gunfire linked to ongoing regional tensions.
Due to uncertainties surrounding the exact cause of death, the family opted not to pursue an autopsy.
As they mourn her sudden passing, the family is now appealing for financial assistance to help cover the cost of repatriating her remains to the Philippines for a final farewell.
