Foreigners living illegally in Kuwait may leave under an Amnesty

Today The Interior Ministry announced that foreigners living illegally in Kuwait may leave under an amnesty period. According to the reports of Kuwait Times Illegal residents can rectify their legal status, or pay their fines and leave Kuwait without being blacklisted.

Residency affairs departments around Kuwait are prepared to receive violators who will not face persecution if they voluntarily surrender to correct their status or pay their fines and leave the country, said Brigadier Adel Al-Hashash, Director of the ministry’s Relations and Security Media Department.

Any violator who is arrested will be forced to pay their fines before being deported and placed on the blacklist of people who will not be allowed to enter Kuwait again, Hashash warned. The official did not mention the duration of the amnesty period.
