Filipino Nurse in Kuwait Passes Away Amidst Fight Against COVID-19

A Filipino nurse in Kuwait passed away after contracting COVID-19, said the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Nursing Society.

“It is unfortunate that one of the nursing personnel died in this way due to the lack of protection and the provision of medical care, pointing out that he asked the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health a short time ago to open a comprehensive investigation of all the parties to the tragic incident, the coming days will bear a lot,” says the chairman.

According to the report of Arabtimes: “The Preventive Health, Nursing, and Ambulance Team all have knowledge of the nurse’s condition, who died today as a result of her stay in the nurse’s residence for more than 3 days, and all of them knew of her infection with the virus.

Recently, a Military plane from China arrived in Kuwait fully loaded with medical equipment to be used to combat the spread of the disease. According to the press release by the Ministry’s Moral Guidance and Public Relations Directorate, the effort is part of the joint cooperation efforts of Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, The Defense, and the Ministry of Health. This has been done to provide the much-needed medical equipment to flatten the curve on the number of coronavirus patients in the country.

As of May 4, 2020, the total number of Coronavirus cases in Kuwait is at 4,983, with 1,776 recoveries and 38 deaths.
