No Official Announcement on the Lifting of Deployment Ban to Kuwait, Says Labor Attaché

Despite the claims of several news outlets in Kuwait that the deployment ban on Filipino Household workers, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) claims that there are still no official announcement on their part that the ban is finally lifted.

In a statement, Philippine Labor Attaché Nasser Mustafa claims that the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait that there is no recommendation from Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III with regards to the lifting of the deployment ban on Filipino domestic workers.

POLO-Kuwait said that they are still waiting for the official decision from the designated office in Manila.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 cases in the Philippines continue to grow with an additional 10,098 new cases as of April 18, 2021. The country also recorded a record high number of COVID-19 positives who are finally cured. The Department of Health recorded 72,607 individuals who are cured of COVID-19. The number of active cases in the Philippines is still at 141,089 individuals.
