No Transfer of Residency for Expats from the Government Sector to Private Employment

Al-Seyassah obtained information that indicated the Ministry of Interior had made a decision not to transfer residency permits to expatriates working in the public sector (Article 17.) to the private sector.

This decision, according to informed sources, includes individuals who have had their services terminated, been laid off, or resigned. According to Article 18, the decision states explicitly that “they do not possess the rights to convert their residence into employment in the private sector”.
