According to a report by Jonathan Andal on Saksi, the victim, identified as Juljirri Aggong, was fatally struck by a car on June 11 at around 12:31 p.m. along King Salman Eastbound Road, in an area not designated for pedestrian crossing.

Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan confirmed that the vehicle involved, including its license plate and driver, had already been identified.

Efforts are now underway to obtain CCTV footage of the incident. OWWA also has a lawyer based in Riyadh to assist in pursuing legal action.

We just want justice. This cannot just be another forgotten story,” said Mhaie Aggong, cousin of the victim. “There are many more OFWs in Saudi. If this is not acted on, there could be more victims.

Juljirri Aggong, originally from Jolo, Sulu, was the eldest among his siblings. He had been working in Riyadh as an office and facility cleaner for the past six months, hoping to support his family back home.

Following Islamic tradition, the family has decided that Aggong will be laid to rest in Riyadh.

OWWA assured the public that it is committed to seeking justice for Aggong and will provide continuous support to his family.
