A Filipino expatriate based in Dubai has kicked off the new year with a life-changing win after securing the Dh30 million Big Ticket Grand Prize in the first draw of 2025.
Anna Lee Gayongan, a senior account executive who has lived in Dubai for the past 15 years, emerged as the sole winner of Big Ticket draw series 282, held in Abu Dhabi.
The winning ticket, number 074090, was purchased on December 21, and marked the culmination of years of persistence, as Anna had been a regular Big Ticket participant for several years.
During the live draw, hosts Richard and Bouchra initially struggled to reach Anna by phone, with two unanswered calls prompting a light-hearted moment on air.
“If you know Anna Lee Gayongan, tell her to pick up her call,” Richard joked, while Bouchra added with a laugh, “Where is Anna Lee?”
The Big Ticket team eventually reached her, and Anna shared that she was overwhelmed with happiness, calling the win the best possible way to begin the new year.
Her story is now inspiring thousands of Overseas Filipinos across the UAE and beyond, proving that patience—and a bit of luck—can truly pay off.
