Vaccination of Newly Arrived Domestic Workers in Kuwait Kicks Off

The vaccination drive for domestic workers who were yet to be vaccinated earlier and entered the country through ‘Bil Salama’ platform has finally kicked off in Kuwait, the Ministry of Health confirmed.

It is said that the Ministry of Health vaccinated newly arrived domestic workers with COVID-19 vaccine and the sponsor is obliged to send back their domestic workers for their second dose after receipt of a phone message confirming their second dose schedule.

Vaccines were administered to female domestic workers who were not infected by the virus while incoming workers are required to still obtain a negative PCR test from their country of origin 72 hours prior to their travel date.

As the country started to receive foreign nationals from the domestic workers’ sector, the country has welcomed domestic workers from the Philippines and India but the number remains limited even if there is a high demand from Kuwaiti citizens.
