Kuwait Allows 4th Dose of COVID-19 Booster Shots For 50 Years Old and Above

A vaccination program against Covid-19 has been approved by the Ministry of Health for 16 health centers across all health regions, according to Al-Qabas daily. It will begin the vaccination process at these centers on Aug 10, 2022, from Sunday through Thursday between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

According to the sources, the ministry has designated Abdul Rahman Al- Zayd Health Center in West Mishref to administer the Pfizer vaccination, providing the first and second doses to children aged 5 to 12, as well as the third booster dose for those 12 to less than 18 years old, and the fourth booster dose for those 50 years and older, indicating that the other 15 centers will provide Moderna vaccine doses.

According to sources, the allocation of centers coincides with the imminent return of some families from abroad as well as the start of the school season in mid-September. During the period prior to the vaccination campaign that was launched in late December 2020, there was a noticeable increase in health awareness and significant turnout, contributing to positive results, as indicated by the figures.
