Overseas Filipino Workers in Kuwait are enduring the heat as they fall in line to get their Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC). It can be recalled that the online transaction for OEC as well as the OEC Exemption is temporarily unavailable in Kuwait.
In the live video which was posted by Maxxy Santiago, it can be seen that Filipino workers in Kuwait who are planning to go home needs to fall in a long queue just to get their OEC, a certification needed before they can return to the Philippines.

However, getting an OEC is not as simple as before. Back then, you only need to do an online transaction when getting your OEC. Things are more difficult nowadays. Aside from the fact that OEC Exemptions remains unavailable, OFWs in Kuwait also needs to fall in a long queue to get their OECs.
In the video, OFWs are waiting outside the POLO-OWWA office because there are already a lot of people inside. To think that the weather in Kuwait is really hot nowadays adds to the difficulty of the Filipinos there.
According to Labor Attache Resty Dela Fuente, they already instructed their personnel to stop making OFWs, queue outside because it’s already summer time in Kuwait, with the temperature reaching from 40 degrees to 43 degrees.
As for the return of OECs and OEC Exemptions, they are still awaiting the guidelines of POEA when it comes to VISA 20 (for domestic helpers). By the time everything comes back to normal, it’s expected that OEC can then be accessed online.
It is expected that this week, there will be a new set of guidelines for domestic helpers, says Labor Attache Dela Fuente.
