Filipino Frontliner in Kuwait Succumbs To COVID-19

Another fallen hero.

A Filipino nurse who works at the Emergency Medical Services at the Ministry of Kuwait succumb to death amid his fight against COVID-19.

Garry Calub will never see his family again, the very reason why he decided to look for a greener pasture abroad because he contracted the deadly disease while being a frontliner in this battle against COVID-19.

According to the Facebook account of Garry, he hails from San Fernando, La Union. He is married and has kids. His last post was on May 3, 2020. It was a throwback photo from seven years ago with his co-workers. No one would think that this will be his last Facebook post.

From the hospital, where he succumbed to the disease, his remains were taken and prepared for his funeral at the Sulabikhat Cemetery. In line with the safety and protection of many, the remains of COVID-19 victims are not returned to their home country, hence, they are buried or cremated to avoid further exposure.

In Facebook, footage of how Garry was laid on his final resting place was shown. He was remembered by his family, friends and co-workers through a Facebook video.
