Expatriate Scammed – Fraudsters Steal 3,000 Dinars

Al-Anba reports that despite the warnings issued by the Ministry of Interior about fraudulent activities conducted by individuals outside Kuwait, who pose as security personnel or banks through phone calls and other electronic communication platforms, one expatriate was a victim of such deceptive operations that target innocent victims.

The complaint of the expatriate filed at the Farwaniya Police Station shows that the man was robbed for three thousand dinars. The caller said he claimed to be a bank employee and asked for a copy of his civil ID and bank card. The victim then received several messages informing him of withdrawals amounting to 3000 dinars within a short period.

It was confirmed that the bank does not employ employees who solicit customers for this information. The expatriate was indeed a victim of an external criminal network’s scam. The case was reported to the authorities in order to conduct further investigations.
