NAIA Reminds Travelers: Airport Assistance is Free, Report Anyone Asking for Payment

MANILA, Philippines — The management of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has reminded the public that assistance provided by airport personnel is completely free and should never come with requests for tips, gifts, or direct payments.

According to NAIA, all airport employees are expected to perform their duties professionally without asking for compensation from passengers. This policy applies to everyone working within the airport, ensuring that travelers receive fair and honest service throughout their journey.

Airport officials clarified, however, that personalized or premium assistance services requested by passengers are considered paid services, similar to those offered in airports around the world. These services must only be arranged and paid for through official airport channels and should never involve direct payments to airport personnel.

NAIA also encouraged passengers to remain vigilant. Anyone who is asked to provide money, gifts, or any form of compensation in exchange for assistance is urged to report the incident through the airport’s official customer feedback channels so appropriate action can be taken.

At the same time, airport management encouraged travelers to recognize employees who go above and beyond in serving the public. Passengers are invited to share the names and stories of airport personnel who provide exceptional service, allowing the airport to acknowledge and reward their dedication.

The reminder is part of NAIA’s ongoing efforts to promote transparency, integrity, and quality customer service while ensuring a safe and pleasant travel experience for all passengers.
