Informed sources revealed that the meeting of the Filipino delegation visiting Kuwait with its Kuwaiti counterparts was “positive and effective, and an atmosphere of optimism prevailed,” noting that “the two teams agreed on the return of Filipino workers to work in the Kuwaiti market in its domestic and private sectors.” The sources stated, “It was agreed to avoid all previous negatives and work seriously to solve any problem through a new mechanism approved between the two parties following Kuwaiti law.

She pointed out that “one of the things that was agreed upon was to hand over all workers fleeing the embassy to the Public Authority for Manpower, represented by the government shelter center, within 72 hours.”

For his part, the Philippine ambassador to the country, Jose Cabrera, told Al-Rai, “Today’s meeting was lengthy, and many matters were discussed, and there are two more meetings tomorrow and the day after Thursday,” explaining that “the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry will announce the results of the meetings after they end.
