Kuwait Court Upholds 14-Year Sentence in Killing of Domestic Worker

KUWAIT CITY, April 26 — The Court of Appeals has upheld a 14-year prison sentence against a Kuwaiti citizen convicted of killing an Asian domestic worker, according to Al-Seyassah daily.

Court records show the defendant brutally assaulted the victim, resulting in her death, before burying her remains in his garden in Saad Al-Abdullah in an attempt to conceal the crime.

In a related ruling, the court also affirmed one-year prison sentences for the man’s wife, brother, and father. The three were found guilty of aiding the crime by tampering with evidence and assisting in the disposal of the victim’s body.

The case was initially reported as a missing person incident, but further investigation uncovered inconsistencies that led authorities to the suspect. Following his confession, both he and his family members were arrested, prosecuted, and ultimately convicted.

The appellate court’s decision reinforces the earlier verdict, closing one of the more disturbing criminal cases reported in the country. Via Arabtimes
