Third OFW in Kuwait Who Took Own Life in the Past Three Weeks, Reported

News regarding a Filipina domestic helper who took her own life has been circulating online.

According to the news outlet Al Rai Newspaper, the incident happened in Abdullah Al-Salem Area, Kuwait. The family of her employer was looking for her after she was late for work. It turns out that the Filipina already passed away.

Her employer asked for the help of the police when the Filipina was locked inside the comfort room and not answering their calls. When the authorities arrived and opened the door, the Filipina was found hanging and lifeless.

The remains of the Filipina was taken to the hospital after gathering evidence that she took her own life. This is already the third case of a similar incident in Kuwait involving Overseas Filipino Worker (OFWs) in the past three weeks.

On May 7, it was also reported that a Filipina domestic helper took her own life by hanging and was found by her employers inside her room. On April 24, a Filipino who was diagnosed with coronavirus took his own life inside the Amiri Hospital.

Meanwhile, there are already 17,567 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kuwait. There are 4,885 who recovered from the disease while 124 were confirmed expired.
