Kuwait Authorities Looking For A Ghanaian Maid Who Escaped During Fire That Took The Lives of 8 Children

An Ethiopian housemaid thought to be responsible for the passing of eight children after a fire broke out inside their residence was arrested by Kuwaiti authorities while another maid is on the run.

An ongoing search is taking place over a Ghanaian citizen after she allegedly escaped during the fire that broke out near the Sabah Al-Salem area. The housemaid who is said to be responsible for the incident immediately disappeared and is nowhere to be found.

The eight children who lost their lives during the fire were immediately buried by their families yesterday. Several members of the society also offered their condolences to the bereaved family. Netizens were also able to convey their condolences through different social media platforms.

According to reports, the fire first broke out inside the house while the parents of the children were out. It is said that the eldest child was aged 13 and the youngest is only 8 months. They were four boys and four girls.

Firefighters were able to rescue the children during the fire and were immediately taken to the hospital. However, because of the intensity of their injury, they soon expired in the hospital.

Firefighters together with security personnel is already investigating the cause of the fire and also collected evidence during the investigation.

According to the preliminary investigation, the fire was allegedly ignited using a lighter but this reason is yet to be confirmed.
