Kuwait Issues Work Visa For Filipino Domestic Workers

After more than a year of suspension, hundreds of visas for Filipinos were finally released, particularly for domestic workers.

According to reports, these new visas will be issued to Filipinos as soon as the signing of contracts between the Philippine Embassy and Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior and Commerce, and the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) will take place.

New instructions with regards to the recruitment of Filipino workers will also be circulated throughout different offices. The signing of tripartite contracts will also take place between the employers, new domestic workers, and their recruitment agency.

Furthermore, the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) and the Ministry of Commerce will be meeting in the next few days to tackle the issue of recruitment fees during this pandemic. The high cost of getting new contracts will also be tackled.

Recently, news broke out regarding the patched relationship of the Philippines and Kuwait when it comes to hiring and recruitment of domestic helpers.
