Kuwait Starts Vaccination Drive For Children Ages 5-11 Years Old

The Ministry of Health in Kuwait will be starting to vaccinate children under the age group 5-11 years old this week. Under this category, there will be approximately 400,000 children who will be vaccinated which includes expats and Kuwaitis. These children will receive Pfizer vaccines that have an authorized size dose in between 21 days.

According to the Health Department, the doses will not be based on the weight of the child but on their age. Moreover, parents are summoned to register their children for the vaccination, something that has been clinically proven to fight against COVID-19.

The estimated number of children per category are as follows;

5 years old – 61,563

6 years old – 63,221

7 years old – 61,225

8 years old – 61,736

9 years old – 60,748

10 years old – 60,424

11 years old – 58,234

 

Meanwhile, Fajer Bourashid, head of the Sabhan Center for Rapid Testing (RT) confirms that they are accepting visitors starting from 5:30 pm until 10:30 pm. An appointment is needed to visit the facility and it should be made at the Ministry of Health website. Students are also welcome to make an appointment with them.
